Global Rohingya Center – GRC welcomed the decision to appoint Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen as secretary-general of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to succeed Mr. Iyad Madani, and on this occasion sent Arakan Rohingya Union congratulated Othaimeen and stated: We received with great joy and pleasure the decision of your appointment as Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
We would like to congratulate you on this happy occasion we can express with confidence that you have earned this, and we wish you in the new mission further progress in service of the issues of Muslims around the world and from which the cause of the oppressed Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar belongs.
It is noteworthy that Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen held various positions in Saudi Arabia, most recently appointed Minister for Social Affairs and relieved by royal decree in December 8, 2014.
