BANGKOK: The two member delegation of Rohingya (Burma) Muslims from Saudi Arabia met with Pakistan’s former Federal Minister for human rights, Ansar Burney and Vice Chairperson of Ansar Burney Trust International, Mrs Shaheen Burney at Bangkok in Thailand and discussed with them issues related to persecution facing by Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar and human trafficking from Myanmar (Burma) to neigh-bouring countries.

The Chairman of Ansar Burney Trust International and United Nations former Expert Adviser on human rights, Ansar Burney after visiting and meeting with Rohingya migrants in different camps in Malaysia and Thailand while talking with Rohingya’s delegation at Bangkok said, “Myanmar’s (Burma) government should treat minority Rohingya Muslims as citizens of Myanmar to solve the root cause of the worst crisis in Southeast Asia,”

He also requested all Myanmar’s NGO’s and Political leaders to speak up on human and civil rights issues.

“The United Nation is also requested to intervene as Myanmar (Burma) Rohingya people needs immediate restoration of their Nationality with full rights as Myanmar Nationals have, without any discrimination on Religion”. Ansar Burney added.

Ansar Burney urged upon Myanmar Government to restore Nationality of Rohingya Muslims as citizen without any discrimination of religion as in Rakhine, the native state of the Rohingya, authorities require Muslims to obtain a permit to marry and not allowed more than one child even for that they need Government permission, a step not required of others and urged that Rohingyas need to be treated as citizens of Myanmar (Burma).
