Saudi Ambassador to Bahrain: Saudi Arabia has an important role in supporting the Rohingya issue

The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Tow Holy Mosques to the Kingdom of Bahrain Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulmalik Al Al-Sheikh  said in a statement that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is deeply concerned and strongly condemns the government’s policy of repression and forced displacement against the Muslim Rohingya community and the protection of human rights through the cessation of the policy of repression, displacement and genocide against the Rohingya Muslims, also the need of repatriation of refugees to their areas.

In a statement to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), the ambassador stressed that the policy of repression, forced displacement, genocide and massacres practiced by the Myanmar government against the Muslim Rohingya community is contrary to all human values ​​and international laws.
Al-Sheikh pointed out that the Kingdom places top priority on the issue and takes it upon itself to defend their cause in international forums and international conferences, stressing the important role of Saudi Arabia in supporting and adopting the Rohingya issue at all levels.

The issue of the Muslims of Arakan is an Islamic issue and the cause of the oppressed Muslim people are suffering from humiliation and genocide.

Al-Sheikh also called on the United Nations and friendly countries to condemn the government of Myanmar and end the tragedy and carry out their humanitarian and international responsibilities. The Islamic countries should adopt the cause of the Rohingyas and bring their cause before world public opinion, and to provide political and humanitarian efforts to alleviate their suffering and restore their rights.

The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Al-Sheikh, pointed out that the role of Saudi Arabia since the beginning of the crisis was not limited to the political aspect. Saudi Arabia hosted more than half a million of them, in addition to the personal intervention of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in neighboring countries of Myanmar, With the sister government of Bangladesh, to open the borders to them and ensure that they provide a decent life for the refugees and delivery of aid as well as to provide humanitarian assistance through the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid where the supreme directive of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud – may Allah protect him – recently called upon the center to allocate US $ 15 million for Rohingya.

King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid is conducting visits to the Rohingya refugees in Balukali and Kutubpalong camps in Bangladesh, in coordination with the Bangladeshi government and the International Organization for Migration. The Center is also studying the implementation of refugee camps for Rohingya in the city of Kuala Lumpur.

The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques stressed that Saudi Arabia attaches great importance to the refugees in the world and their suffering, and plays an active role in this field through the assistance provided by the Kingdom since its establishment and in accordance with religious and moral values. And supports projects for the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in several regions of the world.
