Burmese authorities in Ondang village South Maungdaw city in Arakan arbitrarily decided to ban Rohingya fishermen from going out for fishing, according to the correspondent of the Arakan News Agency adding that the villagers faced a life of challenges and suffering from hardship almost daily because of harassment and repressive measures by the authorities against Rohingya people.
On the other hand, the Bur…mese authorities imposed curfew on the Rohingya throughout the day in the village of Shitafurika South of Maungdaw city according to a source familiar, the source added that the authorities prevent people from going out and navigate neighborhoods and villages across checkpoints in the streets and main roads, explaining that it calls for anyone who ever tries to get out and move through get detained and taken away.
It is noteworthy that the Rohingyas in Arakan refuse to receive green cards after the Burmese government took their white cards earlier this year because it includes the phrase stating that the bearer dubious and subject to verification of his identity.
