Chinese authorities on Wednesday arrested 53 Uyghurs Muslims in the village of Buforga of the city of Kashgar in occupied East Turkistan.
The Turkistan account on Twitter cited the reason for the arrest as: the presence of “sensitive materials” on their smartphones in reference to Islamic programs.
The Chinese authorities have forced Uyghur Muslims to download the program “Jinwang” on their mobile phones to watch them.
The Chinese media have described the “Big Brother Application”, which monitors Uyghur Muslims’ files on their mobile phones and identifies illegal “terrorist” and “religious” materials – videos, photos, books and electronic documents – according to Chinese authorities.
