The Australian government has provided additional $ 15 million in humanitarian aid to Myanmar and Bangladesh to help the Muslim minority of Rohingya Muslims affected by the violence.
Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said in a statement that the funding, in addition to the 5 million Australian dollars provided by Australia on Sept. 9th, would increase Australia’s total aid to the Rohingya minority and affected communities in Myanmar and Bangladesh to over A $ 65 million since The year 2012.
“Australia reiterates its call on the Myanmar authorities to exercise restraint, protect civilians and provide unrestricted or unconditional access to humanitarian workers,” Bishop said.
