Local Rohingya residents on Monday found the body of a Rohingya man decomposed on the edge of a river in the city of Buthidaung, Arakan province, with traces of abuse.
Muslims accused the Buddhists of killing the man and throwing his body in the water to decompose and not find the traces of the perpetrators, where they found the body with hands tied with ropes and the man’s clothes in the village of San Thi Bin, which is inhabited by Buddhists.
A local resident told Arakan news agency that elderly man was Jaafar Hussein Abdul Sattar, was suffering from psychological disorders and he was lost from his family three days ago from the village of Pant Lai in southern Buthidaung.
Residents believe the man lost his way and headed for a nearby Buddhist village which is predominantly Buddhist, hence he was attacked and then killed by radical Buddhists.
The local Muslim population informed the authorities of the incident and sent a delegation to retrieve the body for regular process in the nearby hospital.
