A delegation of pro government Rohingyas arrived from Rangoon on Thursday.

The Rohingyas in the delegation have been tasked with the responsibility to convince people to adopt the green card.

The group met with Rohingya community leaders in Quarter 2 of Maungdaw town.

Rohingyas in Arakan state have been unwilling to accept the green cards as it refers to them as Bengalis. The green card is given to naturalised citizens but Rohingyas say they are indigenous to Arakan state.

That claim is bitterly disputed by the government and large sections of the Buddhist populace.
