Malaysian opposition calls for pressure on Myanmar to stop violence against “Rohingya”

Malaysian opposition demanded on Tuesday the leaders of Southeast Asian countries, should keep the pressures on Myanmar, to get it to stop the violence against the Rohingya minority Muslim in Arakan State.

In this regard, The opposition leader Aziza Wan Ismail called on the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to “exercise more decisive on Myanmar under pressure, in order to stop immediately, the violence in Arakan province, western Myanmar, rather than initial talks she described “.

She further added the opposition parties should participate the conferences, to expressed support for “any serious step (related to the case) taken by the Malaysian government, or ASEAN.”

She considered that “all minorities, including Christians, are persecuted in Myanmar.”
