In a statement to Arakan news agency, the woman told that the army broke into her home in Tula Tuli village of Maungdaw town in Arakan state and then took all members from her family including her to be killed outside but fortunately she survived.
The woman adds that they had already put the knife on her neck to slay her, causing a wound in her neck but left because as they were in hurry and thought that the wound was enough to kill her.
“They left me, but I found myself able to move. I knew what was going on around me. I ran away from my village and came here in Bangladesh.”
Despite international appeals, the Myanmar authorities continue their aggressive approach to Rohingya unceasingly, with the United Nations and other organizations describing what is happening as genocide.
The number of displaced people in Bangladesh has reached 515,000 including large numbers of children and women. International organizations and agencies have warned of the risk of epidemics due to overcrowding, poor infrastructure and lack of potable water.
