A house of Rohingya Muslims in the city of Buthidaung was accidentally set on fire in the middle of Sunday night, scaring the villagers.
Witnesses in the village of Rohingyadaung said the house caught fire in a sudden way, although the house was empty of the population where its family had fled to Bangladesh.
Local residents accused the Buddhists for burning the house because, according to them, it is inconceivable to ignite the fire in such a way that engulfed the entire house without the presence of burning material in the house.
The villagers extinguished the fire before moving to the neighboring house, but the fire completely destroyed the house and burned everything in it.
Arakan has been the scene of frequent house-to-house incineration, with at least 200 houses burnt since the Myanmar military campaign with Buddhist militias stopped.
