The British newspaper “Independent” has put forward a number of proposals that Britons can take as tens of thousands of Rohingya Muslims are forced to flee their homes in the Arakan state of Burma, saying they are desperately in need of help, especially food and shelter.
Among the proposals available to the British, for example, is to pressure on members of Parliament by writing to them and asked to raise the issue in parliament and urged them to ask the British government to commit to support relief efforts.
Among the proposals were donations to relief organizations, some of them working on the Bangladeshi border with Myanmar since last December, and the newspaper had named a number of NGOs.
They pointed out that those who prefer to donate time can become volunteers for international organizations and bodies such as the Crescent and the International Red Cross, one of the oldest humanitarian organizations in the world.
