At least 14 Rohingya refugees drowned, most of them children, and scores of people died on Monday after their boat capsized off the coast of Bangladesh in the latest in a series of tragedies plaguing people fleeing violence in Myanmar.
Bangladesh authorities reported that the boat was carrying between 60 and 100 people when it capsized and drowned late Sunday night in the Bay of Bengal.
More than half a million Rohingyas, from northern Arakan province, fled in one month to flee military operations and civil violence, which the United Nations considered ethnic cleansing.
