Indian authorities arrested seven Rohingya Muslims who were trying to go to Malaysia with forged documents at Bangalore International Airport late Thursday night.
The seven detainees are Salma Begum, Mohamed Taher, Omar Farouk, Mohamed Khaled, Rihana Begum, Mohamed Mustafa and Rajat Mandal.
According to the police, the accused were refugees from Myanmar who had been living in Hyderabad for some time and had issued forged visas and passports in an attempt to travel to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The Financial Times reported that one of the detainees, Mohammed Khaled, had been sued for helping the remaining with documents and was arrested at the airport police station.
