The United Nations (UN) office in Bangladesh confirmed on Sunday that 507,000 people from the Muslim minority of Rohingya had arrived in the country last month to escape the wave of violence in Myanmar, about 5,000 more than last Thursday.
“507,000 new arrivals have been registered,” the UN Coordination Group said in a statement. There has been a new decline in the last two days in the movement on the border. “
She explained that the Rohingyas arriving in the territory of Bangladesh were continuing their journey to the Kutubpalong camp where they were “setting up new shelters”.
The statement revealed that some 37% of refugees arrived by walking and 34% by boat.
