Rohingya Muslim villagers in Hansar Bil, Maungdaw North are regularly being harassed on their way back to their homes at night.
Locals say that a night time curfew is in place after 11 pm. However anyone coming back from work as soon as darkness falls is being harassed and often assaulted by the BGP.
Fishermen have been particularly hard hit by the new restrictions. Locals say it is very difficult for fishermen to come back before darkness falls.
Shopkeepers also need to keep their shops open till a later hour and face problems.
In recent days, authorities have tightened restrictions on Rohingya livelihoods in an attempt to make life even more difficult for the community.
