The first voluntary treatment for Rohingya refugees in Malaysia was launched on Tuesday with the participation of Malaysian doctors in cooperation with Malaysian and Rohingya organizations.
“The campaign was launched today in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur in a number of Rohingya refugee camps in cooperation with the GRC, the Malaysian Consultative Council for Islamic Organization (MAPIM) and the Malaysian organization ” said Farid Abduljabbar, executive director of the GRC.
He added that the campaign received more than 300 health cases, including orphan children, pregnant women and elderly people were suffering from various diseases.
Abdul-Jabbar said the campaign targets Rohingya refugees those do not have the money or documents to be treated in public hospitals.
The organizers held a meeting in March in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and announced the establishment of medical teams to carry out medical campaigns every three weeks aimed at helping the Rohingya refugees in Malaysia.
