Supreme Court Bar Association urge Myanmar to ensure Rohingyas’ rights

Holding a press conference, Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) yesterday called upon the world community to sand by the oppressed Rohingyas of Myanmar and urged the country’s government to stop repressing them, reports our staff correspondent.

SCBA leaders will also form a human chain today on its premises.

Supreme Court Bar Association president and the ruling Awami League advisory council member Yusuf Hossain Humayun. BNP joint secretary at the Association General Secretary Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon were present.

A statement was issued, which stated  “Human rights are being violated in Nobel Peace Prize laureate Aung San Suu Kyi-led government at the behest of the direction of the hellish carnage happening. And the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights-1948 Article 3,5,7,8,13 and 14 are violated including violation of International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.

Protesting the attacks, the Communist Party of Bangladesh too in a statement urged the Myanmar government to ensure the Rohingyas’ rights.
