Sudan’s Ambassador to Bangladesh Sirajuddin Hamid visited three of the largest Rohingya refugee camps and checked their status after presenting credentials to the president in Bangladesh.
The camps visited by Ambassador Hamid are about 50 miles from the city of Cox-Bazar, Bangladesh, an hour’s flight from Dhaka.
The Sudan decided last September to start sending urgent humanitarian aid to relief the Rohingya Muslims across Bangladesh, including medicine, clothing, food and shelter materials.
The relief and support committee of the Rohingya Muslims said it would also move the stranded on the border into the refugee camps, where thousands of Rohingya Muslims in Arakan province fled to neighboring Bangladesh.
Sudan committed itself to harnessing all its material and human resources and international relations for the success of the relief campaign of the Rohingya Muslims, while the humanitarian organizations are ready for relief operations.
