Rohingyas insist on praying in the mosque, despite the suppression of the Burmese authorities

A number of Buddhist monks accompanied by security forces horrid through Rohingya dense areas in eMaungdaw of Arakan during performing of their Friday prayers with the intentions of spreading terror in them also disperse them by chasing and arresting some of Rohingyas as the correspondent of ANA said, adding that the intruders have tampered with the contents of Mosque and desecrate with their boots before leaving and putting a lock on the door from the outside.
And the locals Rohingya Muslims said, “Munshi” is the largest and oldest mosque for the Muslims in central Maungdaw city, he further added that the Burmese authorities have prevented Muslims from praying, pointing out that the people of the region are determined to establish a ritual prayer in the mosque instead of sneaking inside the mosque from time to time from performing prayers.

It is noteworthy that the Burmese authorities have closed a lot of mosques and Islamic schools in Arakan, disable and prevented benefits from following the events of sectarian violence committed by Buddhists against Rohingya in 2012, it is a clear violation of the right to exercise freedom of religion and belief.
