A Rohingya teacher was stabbed by unknown assailants in Bangladesh camps, on Sunday, leading to severe injuries in his abdomen.
Arakan News Agency ANA reporter stated that the victim, Muhammad Zubair, was attacked on his way home in Kutupalong refugee camp at night. He explained that the gang summoned him through one of his relatives via a phone call, luring him back to the refugee camp.

Reports say that he was stabbed four times by a group of four assailants who are Rohingya and Bangladeshi living at a near camp.
Due to the severity of the wounds, with his stomach protruding, Zubair is currently receiving medical treatment at the Cox’s Bazar hospital.
Although the victim is still alive, he remains in critical condition, facing life-threatening injuries, according to a family member who spoke to ANA.
Mysterious attacks on Rohingya refugees are common in Bangladeshi camps. Since the beginning of this year, the camps have witnessed several incidents, including a Rohingya child being severely assaulted by unknown assailants upon his return from school. Another refugee’s dead body was found last January, and another was murdered in camps in February.
More than one million Rohingya refugees live in the Cox’s Bazar area of Bangladesh, after fleeing violence and persecution in Myanmar since the genocidal campaign launched by the military against them in 2017. The United Nations describes Cox’s Bazar as the largest refugee camp in the world.
