Tunisian leader Rachid Ghannouchi has praised the Malaysian government’s courage in facing Muslims issues in Southeast Asia and West Asia, especially the Rohingya issue in Myanmar.
“Malaysia has played a major role to alleviate the persecution of the Rohingya in western Myanmar and a number of issues in the region and has given a positive image of the Islamic state, which is not insignificant to the international community,” said Ghannouchi, head of the Nahdha party in Tunisia.
“We care about what the government did to the Rohingya Muslims.”
This came during an interview with the media after his meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak on Tuesday.
