Burmese authorities have imposed fines on the two Rohingya men in Arakan, the fines ranging between 60 to 70 thousand Burmese kyat the charges are under accusations of fixing their homes without official permission, reported to ANA adding that the concerned governmental authorities refuse to issue permits granted to Rohingya in many cases.
On the other hand, authorities arrested a Rohingya merchant who owns a shop for clothes on charges of going to the city of Maungdaw to bring in goods, according to a source, the source also added that the authorities had to release him after a fine of more than 800 thousand Burmese kyat, explaining that he had received certain of the authorities threats of repressive measures and the imposition of further sanctions in case of leaking the news of persecution to outside world.
It is noteworthy that the Burmese authorities exercise many forms of extortion against Rohingyas in Arakan, including arbitrary charges as media reporter or journalist, as authorities cover-ups persecution suffocating the region in order to prevent leakage news of persecution to local and foreign media.
