Forced by the Buddhist mayor of the northern district of Maungdaw city in Arakan State Rohingya villagers are being forced on hard labor without being paid by exploiting his official power in an illegal way, reported by an agency correspondent.
In details forced by the Buddhist mayor (agency hides his name) a large number of Rohingya people work in rebuilding the home of a Buddhist man burned his house through carrying out a grill to prepare his food, and so under the pressure of the threat to notify the authorities about them by the false accusations of their involvement in the burning of the house despite the difficult living conditions faced by Rohingya under starvation and economic blockade policy pursued by the Burmese authorities against the Rohingyas in Arakan.
And the reporter added that the Buddhist mayor forces Rohingyas to work for a long time and to the late hours of the night without allowing them to stop to take a break and without giving them any meals.
It is noteworthy that the Government of Burma deal with the Rohingyas as outsiders illegal immigrants, and extracted citizenship from them under Law issued in 1982, the law that they considered foreigners Bangladeshis have no right to citizenship despite hundreds of years after their stay in Arakan State, according to historical sources.
