Othaimeen calls on Myanmar to allow access to humanitarian aid and conduct investigations on violence against Rohingya

Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation , Dr. Yusuf Bin Ahmed Al – Othaimeen stressed that the organization has sought to cooperate with the authorities in Myanmar at various levels, and invited them to adopt a policy of transparency and justice toward ethnic and religious minorities, stressing at the same time the need for the Government of Myanmar to take measures to ensure the operation and plans to enable Rohingya to regain their citizenship, and prevent the continuation of discrimination, violence and a wave of unjustified violations against them.

This came during the opening of the extraordinary session of the Foreign Ministers on the status of a Muslim Rohingya minority in Myanmar, in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur, in the presence of His Excellency the Prime Minister of Malaysia Datuk Seri Mohamed Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak, expressed his appreciation for the Government of Malaysia, the good initiative of the meeting and hosting this special session, pioneering the role he played in the defining the deteriorating conditions Rohingya group, noting the contribution made by Malaysia as well as several members for the humanitarian aid and care for refugees to countries.
