The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen, received in his office yesterday the Canadian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, the Special Envoy of Canada to the Organization Mr. Massoud Hussain and discussed the Rohingya crisis and its developments.
During the meeting, the two sides also exchanged views on various issues of common concern, including combating Islamophobia and extremism, and promoting tolerance and peace.
Al-Othaimeen commended Canada for multiculturalism and diversity, and thanked Ambassador Hussein for his country’s interest in the activities of the Organization.
For his part, the Special Envoy of Canada emphasized his country’s keen interest in dealing with the Organization on the common issues agreed by the two sides and on the consolidation of bilateral relations through concrete cooperation.
