The first stage of the project to assist the children of Rohingya Refugees ” in the Tambro camp (no Man Land ) between the Bangladesh and Myanmar border, under the title “Assistance from the Ummah to the Ummah, throught the institute of the Ummah (ICIC)” in cooperation with the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, on 31/12/2017. Mr. Omer Tasli, Regional Representative of the Islamic Committee of the International Crescent of North Asia and Europe (ICIC-IRRO), accompanied by Mr. Ikram Ilahi Chowdhury, Director of the Operations Department of the Population Movement of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society and Mr. Noron Nabi, arrived to Bangladesh and Myanmar border on on 31 December 2017, to distribute the parcels for the children of Rohingya refugee camp in Tambro camp in no Man Lands ) in border of Bangladesh and
Myanmar,The relief package contains one-month food support for children aged 0-5 years.
The delegation also visited the Tambro camp and briefed them on the humanitarian situation of the camp’s residents, who are Muslims Rohingya fleeing the massacres and persecution of their villages. They have reached the border area between Myanmar and Bangladesh and have refused to enter the Bangladeshi territory and are asking the world to help them return to their villages.
The delegation also visited some families in the region and was briefed on their situation, especially children. It conducted a comprehensive field assessment and identified the needs and target number in phase I of 1,000 children aged 0-5 years.
According to the Islamic Committee of the International Crescent, headquartered in Benghazi, Libya, the first phase of the relief project for the children of the Rohingya Muslims on the Bangladeshi border has been successfully implemented in cooperation with the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society and thanks to camp leaders, military authorities, Bangladesh border security and the local population.
Omer Tasli said there was an urgent need for food aid for children in the Rohingya refugee camps visited, which were not covered by other humanitarian assistance, stressing the need to work for three months of food support for the children of these camps, especially for children aged 0 to 10 years, who are treated and need food supplements to reduce the loss of their lives.
He also stressed the need for continued implementation of the relief project for the children of Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, declaring that the Islamic Committee of the International Crescent is ready to cooperate fully with any state, association, institution or organization that wishes to provide humanitarian assistance to Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh and invites States, In order to provide the necessary financial and in-kind resources as soon as possible to contribute to the project of the second relief operation for the children of Rohingya refugee children, which will be sent later.
