A Rohingya woman recounted details of the Myanmar army’s assault on her and her family as part of governments atrocities against the Rohingya ethnicity in Arakan State.

“We are a very poor family and we had a few bags of rice, enough for months, but the Buddhist soldiers broke into our house, assaulted us and our children harshly,” said the woman, speaking in tears about the persecution of Myanmar soldiers in the video recorded on a cell phone. “They stole our rice and provisions, and left after they destroyed our house made of wood and straw.”

Rohingya activist Ahmed Abulkhair said that by looking into the reports of violations by Buddhist soldiers of self-sanctity, they found that they usually steal all available food supplies and water, pointing out the cruel treatment and hatred towards women overtly.
