MSF opened a field hospital in the Rohingya refugee camp with 50 beds,
In just 3 weeks and has so far received 220 patients, more than half of whom have measles.
The organization started building the hospital in Tasnimarkhola camp in Bangladesh in November 2017. It said that it faced great difficulties in completing the facilities and location of the hospital.
Michael Lorstian, who works for MSF, said the team had difficulty in watering and had to dig more than 160 meters to access clean water, where every refugee needed 60 liters of water a day.
He said the team had fortified the hospital building and windows to be safe for patients and the health process. It had put nets on all windows to prevent mosquitoes from entering, and a special ward had been set aside for patients whose disease was feared to spread.
The team was working around 11 shipping containers to emergency rooms, central care units, a pharmacy and a sterilization unit, he said.
