Saudi Arabia and Pakistan Reach Agreement to Resolve Legal Status of Rohingya Issue

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia announced the resolution of the long-standing issue regarding the legal status of Rohingya Muslims during a meeting between Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and the Saudi Ambassador to Islamabad, Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki.

Both sides expressed their satisfaction at reaching a final settlement on the matter, with an official agreement set to be signed next week in Saudi Arabia, according to Daily Times.

The announcement came during discussions on bilateral relations, enhancing cooperation between the interior ministries of both countries, and addressing shared security concerns.

The Saudi Ambassador thanked the Government of Pakistan for its positive role in resolving the issue, emphasizing the importance of continued coordination between the two sides.

During the meeting, the Saudi Ambassador condemned the suicide bombing near the Islamabad Courthouse, expressing sorrow for the victims and reaffirming Saudi Arabia’s support for Pakistan’s counterterrorism efforts.

Both parties also highlighted the deep ties between the peoples of the two countries and stressed the importance of strengthening security cooperation and joint coordination in the future. The meeting was also attended by Federal Secretary of the Interior Muhammad Agha.
