Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Iyad bin Amin Madani discussed the plight of the Rohingya in Myanmar with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy , Ms. Federica Mogherini in a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the seventieth session of the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York.
The two sides also discussed the bilateral cooperation and discussed issues of common concern, also signed a memorandum of understanding between the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the European Union to support and strengthen relations, to promote dialogue between them in order to achieve common goals and objectives in the areas of mutual understanding.
The two sides agreed on a quest through regular consultations and meetings, to strengthen dialogue and cooperation in order to deepen mutual understanding between them in the political and security issues, and to work together in various fields to identify the challenges and common goals and actions that can be taken in areas of common interest.
