A Muslim Rohingya man was stabbed to death by unknown assailants in the city of Maungdaw, believed to be extremist Buddhist gangs, according to Arakan News Agency reporter.

The reporter said the victim was killed by knife stabs late on Sunday night, while the perpetrators were not found at the site and local residents believe that Buddhist extremists were involved in his killing because they saw them nearby from the scene.

The reporter explained that members of the same gang were involved earlier in setting fire to Muslim houses and accused them of it and later discovered that authorities were the culprits, leaving them with a sense of revenge according to the analysis of the local population.
