Myanmar arrests dozens of Rohingya for anti-government charges

The Myanmar army and security forces arrested dozens of Rohingyas from different parts of the city of Maungdaw in last two weeks on charges of associating to an armed Rohingya group and took them to an unknown destination.

Local sources confirmed that the joint forces of the Myanmar army and security raided the villages and towns of Maungdaw city, Arakan state, and arrested dozens of Rohingya with accusations of belonging to an anti-government Rohingya group.
Rohingya activist said that this is a plan formulated by the government to resume the military campaign launched last October on the villages and towns of the Rohingya on the pretext of eliminating gunmen attacked the border posts, adding that hundreds of Rohingya are in prison on trumped-up charges without any trial since the outbreak of violence 2012.
