Myanmar police arrested five young Rohingyas at the ages of 12 to 27 years old who were on their way to the Yangon. Agency correspondent reported that the young detainees tried to sneak into the former capital, hidden away from the eyes of the authorities to escape from persecutions and daily harassment against Rohingya in Arakan State, but they were caught in the grip of the authorities before they can reach the former capital. The correspondent added that authorities prevented relatives from visiting them or told them which prison they were held in until the completion of the investigation process.
It is noteworthy that the Myanmar authorities prohibit Rohingyas absolutely from travel in and out of Arakan State, whatever the reasons and motives behind the desire to do so; at the same time prevent the arrival of international delegations and media agencies to Rohingyas within the state.
