Myanmar imposes fines on Rohingyas affected by the floods and rain

Myanmar authorities have imposed heavy fines on Rohingyas in the town of Fatour Killa whose homes were damaged by the torrential rains and floods in Arakan State as well as other states in Myanmar around two weeks ago.

Agency correspondent reported that there are about 300 Rohingya homes those were damaged by floods in the town of Fatour Killa, adding that the owners of those homes have taken refuge inside a private school.

One of the people affected on condition of anonymity for security reasons said we are surprised on imposed fines on us by the authorities after our return to our homes as we try to repair by self-efforts. He added: authorities’ claim that this amounts imposed on us is a scheduled fee to allow us to repair and reconstruct at a time when we were waiting for the support of the government and hoped to stand with us in our losses.
