Rohingya villagers from Arakan said that members of the government army in a village north of Rai Bail La in Maungdaw city of Arakan state detained women and young girls of the village then took them all like a herd of livestock from one place to another inside the village, so they can abuse them.
According to the villagers, these practices came after an army group surrounded their village last Monday, during which they arrested and girls, and threatened to open fire from machine guns to anyone trying to get close to the army .
Villager reported that the army was also punished older men and women by making them stand in the sun for long hours, at a time when their young children screamed and crying because of hunger, thirst and what they see as the torture and abuse of their parents.
He added that Rohingya men have been subjected to persecution and chases by military forces arbitrarily detained or killed, which led them to the flee toward the woods.
