Government officials in Maungdaw announced that tougher regulations will be enacted against the Muslims of the area.
The declaration was made at a meeting was organised in Nagpura, Maungdaw on Wednesday at around 2pm. Officials from the Lawaka, BGP and police spoke to Rohingya community elders in the meeting.
The government officials said that the Muslim call to prayer known as the Adhan was hereby banned in the vicinity. Also older boys will be barred from attending religious schools. They also said that anyone found with Bangladesh SIM cards will be jailed for one year and there will be no bail in exchange for money.
Other declarations included handing over the white card without any trouble.
