A delegation from the Malaysian Defence Ministry will be making a visit to the Rohingya refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh next month.

Defence Minister Mohamad Sabu said the visit will see the ministry render logistics help on top of aid such as medicine, tents and food.

He said they will also bring Eid al-Fitr cheer to around 60 volunteers comprising doctors and other medical personnel who are currently stationed there.

“They do not have an easy task as they not only have to work under pressure, but also have to deal with the refugees conditions and various ailments.

“We will depart on July 4 via a military aircraft. The aircraft has a large cargo capacity and can carry the various items we intend to channel to the refugee camp.

“As such, those who wish to provide aid can do so via Parti Amanah Negara’s (Amanah) Welfare Bureau. Goods such as chocolates, candy and bread will be most welcome,” he told the media after the Amanah and Shah Alam parliamentary constituency Eid al-Fitr open house on Sunday.

Also present were Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari; Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Minister

Salahuddin Ayub; Health Minister Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad; and Rural Development Minister Rina Mohd Harun.
