Several villages of the Rohingya in Maungdaw region are constantly being blackmailed by Buddhist soldiers and gangs.
A source reported that a number of police and Buddhist gangs, come by every two or three days, threatened to burn the villages of Rohingya unless they pay them, causing the people to live in a state of anxiety in the inability to pay what is required of them because of poverty and inability to practice any work in the volatile state of Arakan.

It is noteworthy that the Myanmar army carried out a large-scale displacement campaign after burning the villages of the Rohingya and their homes and chased by Buddhist gangs led by monks with the full support of the army, and then laying the mines on their way so that they can not return to their homes again; in the context of ethnic cleansing and demographic change purposeful to get rid of the country’s  one of the original ethnicity.
