A Chinese control company has revealed its use of facial recognition technology as one of its techniques used in collecting personal data on Uighur Muslims.

According to a Chinese security researcher, this huge security base includes 2.5 million people with their names, personal identification numbers, personal accounts on the Internet, date of birth, nationality and photographs of them and workplaces according to Fox News.

Chinese security researcher Victor Jeffers, who found the data base, said it was tracking Uighur Muslims on the streets of China, where the database contains 6.7 million traces to track the place.

According to the security researcher, ethnic minorities in China are forced to install spyware on their phones, while human rights groups say China keeps hundreds of thousands of Uighur Muslims in camp-like centers where they are forced to do the job.
