Germany grants 1.85 million euros in aid to Arakan

The German government has donated 1.85 million euros (about 2.1 million US dollars) for humanitarian aid in Arakan, Myanmar, according to a press release on July 21.
According to the Myanmar newspaper Mizzima, the grant will be used to increase access to and improve local health care, to conduct awareness campaigns on community healthcare issues and to provide care for pregnant women, new mothers and other projects.
