Rohingya activists in social networking sites claims of Buddhists are building houses on vacant land which were confiscated earlier from their Rohingya owners by the Burmese authorities in Arakan and later granted them to Buddhists without any financial gains.

A number of activists reported that the Burmese authorities are aiming to do so after the displacement of Rohingya people and grabbing their belongings from their hands in preparation for the creation of demographic changes in the demilitarized areas of the Rohingya. Eyewitnesses reported that the authorities refuse to grant licenses to build or repair to Rohingya under false pretenses; while considering turning a blind for the construction work by Buddhists as they say.

It is noteworthy that the Burmese authorities confiscated large areas and tens of thousands of hectares of Rohingya territory in many cities and villages of Arakan since the outbreak of sectarian violence in 2012.
