Foreign ministers of Germany, Japan, Sweden are inspecting the Rohingya camps in Bangladesh

Foreign ministers from Germany, Japan and Sweden are visiting the refugee camps in Bangladesh, which host more than 600,000 Rohingya Muslims who have fled Myanmar to escape the violence that has escalated since August 25.
The foreign ministry said in a statement that German Zigmar Gabriel, Japanese Taro Kono and Swedish Margot Lellstrom would accompany their Bangladeshi counterpart Abu Hassan Mahmood Ali to a refugee camp near the Myanmar border.
According to the statement, EU High Representative for External Policy Federica Mogherini visited the Kutupalong camp in the south-eastern province of Cox-Bazar to inspect the living conditions of the displaced Rohingya.
In parallel, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks with his Bangladeshi counterpart on the Rohingya crisis in Dhaka this week.
The Chinese minister will not accompany other ministers to the Rohingya camps, according to a Bangladeshi Foreign Ministry official.
Human rights groups have accused Myanmar security forces of killing, raping and burning whole villages, while the UN Human Rights Commission has described the tragedy of the Muslim minority as “a clear example of ethnic cleansing.”
