Egyptian Ambassador to the State of Myanmar, Ambassador Khalid Abdulrahman, left Cairo on Monday after visiting Egypt during which he discussed the issue of the Rohingya Muslims and the persecution they face.
The sources said that during his visit, he met with senior officials and personalities and reviewed relations between Egypt and Myanmar. He also participated in a meeting of the religious committee of the Egyptian parliament which discussed the issue of the Muslims of Rohingya, where he stressed the existence of historical Buddhist persecution against the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar, The crisis has roots and origins.
“The ethnic religious conflict is not only with Muslims but with other religions and ethnicities, but most of these ethnicities and religions are fighting Muslims, and the war there does not end for reasons and interests of certain parties, and the crisis of the Rohingya Muslims can not be seen in isolation from other problems,” he said.
