Myanmar army raided the village of Nakaing Daung in Buthidaung northern Arakan State in western Myanmar at dawn, and searched houses in an arbitrary manner and assaulted Rohingya people.
Agency correspondent reported that army troops raided homes in search of gunmen battled police on 9 October, also searched for mobile phones with Rohingya and looking for the reporters those send news and pictures to the outside world, adding that the army has beaten Rohingya men with rifle butts and injured around 140 Rohingya men when they denied the existence of any mobile phone with them or their knowledge of the gunmen also denied they know any correspondents for media.
The correspondent pointed out that the army detained and took seven Rohingya in arbitrary manner for questioning and then released them later.
It is noteworthy that Myanmar is the only country in the world that criminalize the possession of a mobile phones, and prohibit Rohingyas in Arakan from acquiring mobile phones for use in communicating with the outside world and to provide the media with news and photos of persecution, located on a daily basis, implement the policy of the imposition of the media to conceal the region and isolated from external world.
