Dr. Wakar Uddin Urges World Leaders For Their Support for Rohingya

Director General of Arakan Rohingya Union ARU Dr. Wakar Uddin joined at the United Nations 72nd General Assembly to urge and call upon world leaders to Stop the Genocide on Rohingya by Myanmar Government.

On The sidelines of UN General Assembly Dr. Wakar Uddin  and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu held talks on the current crisis faced by the Rohingya people.
The strong reassurance by Foreign Minister, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, to the Director General, Dr. Wakar Uddin, underscored the unequivocal support by Turkey for the Rohingya people and its leadership of the international coalition pressuring United Nations Security Council to take urgent and ambitious actions, including a strong resolution.

Dr. Uddin reiterated that the scale and speed of the crisis demands a robust response from the United Nations Security Council, designating a safe zone protected by the United Nations’ multinational security forces to safeguard all the people of Northern Arakan.

Since 25th August 2017 Myanmar Army have killed thousands of Rohingya people under the pretext of clearance operations against Rohingya Rebels, which led to massive exodus of more than 400,000 Rohingya people to Bangladesh.

Despite the outcry of the world, Myanmar leader and Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi stayed blindly silent and denied the ongoing persecution of the Rohingya people.
