Arakan Rohingya National Congress has called upon Rohingya leaders and activists to join seminar to discuss the Rohingya cause and unite ahead of the United Nations Conference on Rohingya and other Minorities in Myanmar, scheduled on September 30 in New York. The meeting is scheduled on next month via Zoom.

“This RoundTable will serve as the platform where Rohingya leaders, politicians, activists, and experts from around the world come together to formally convey to world leaders and international stakeholders as the unified political voice of our people”, the statement read.
The statement called on Rohingya to end isolation, division and fragmentation that led to nowhere. “It is time we learn from our past mistakes and refuse to carry them forward. Today, we are being called once again, not to wait, not to watch, but to act”, it added.
The Congress has invited Rohingya leaders, politicians, organizational leaders, activists, scholars, lawyers, women leaders, youth changemakers from around the world to take part in this historic initiative.
“Our people cannot wait. The world will only listen when we speak as one”.
UN General Assembly has adopted a resolution in November to hold an international conference in 2025 in aim of reaching solutions for the Rohingya crisis. Bangladesh has also called on Rohingya factions to unite ahead of the conference to be able to convoy their voice to the world.
Nearly a million Rohingya have fled to Bangladesh since the Myanmar military launched a genocidal campaign against the Rohingya in 2017. Waves of displacement toward Bangladesh have resumed since fighting resumed between the Myanmar military and the Arakan Army, which launched a campaign to seize control of Arakan State in November 2023 and has already seized control of large swathes of it.
