Buddhist Mayor imposed in collusion with the security forces to heavy financial fines on the Rohingya student of Boli Bazaar northern Maungdaw city of Arakan State.
Agency correspondent reported that the Buddhist mayor accused Rohingya student on trumped-up charges of molesting a girl – the agency retains his name – who has not even exceeded age 12 years, and has detained him for several hours, and assaulted him through beatings; and the father of the student was forced to sell part of his property to pay the fine, which amounted to 400 thousand Myanmar Kyat against the release of his son from the hands of the security forces.
