The chairman of Burmese Rohingya Organization UK called on Malaysia and ASEAN countries on Saturday to ask Myanmar to allow the independent international investigation team to enter Arakan state and inspect the conditions of the Rohingya minority there.
“Malaysia should continue to demonstrate against the continued persecution of the Rohingya minority in Myanmar and provide humanitarian assistance to the Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh,” Tun said, adding that since the outbreak of the humanitarian crisis in the region last year, the Myanmar authorities any international media or humanitarian mission to the region.
He expressed appreciation for Malaysia’s efforts to build a field hospital at a Rwandan refugee camp in Bangladesh in November last year, calling on Kuala Lumpur to play an active role with many international bodies in defending the rights of the Muslim minority of Rohingya.
