Arakan Rohingya Union (ARU) and Global Rohingya Center (GRC) held a peaceful demonstration on Wednesday, June 24th, 2015 in the courtyard of the famous broken chair square in front of the United Nations Human Rights Council building to protest against the risks to minority Rohingyas in Arakan province of injustice, oppression, marginalization and genocide by the Myanmar authorities.…
Director General of Arakan Rohingya Union Professor Waqar Uddin and a number of representatives of human rights and humanitarian associations including some European citizens have participated in the protest. For his part, the director of World Association of Rights and Freedoms Mr. Faisal Folaaz stand on the sidelines, saying: “The United Nations did not exert the necessary pressure over the issue of Rohingya and the process of implementation of the resolutions issued against them is not enough.” Folaaz stressed that fundamental rights such as citizenship and stability should be guaranteed to every human being and called for the strengthening of the international coalition in this regard.
